Cooperating With a Professional Virtual Assistant
As a virtual assistant, nothing makes my day more than a compliment from someone I’ve done work for. Just a simple, “That looks great!” can go a long way. I’m happy, and my client is happy; it’s a win-win type of thing.
There is much written on the internet regarding how a virtual assistant can help you. We see those types of posts all the time. However, this blog has a twist. I am writing to let you know how you can cooperate with your professional virtual assistant. An online assistant can be an asset to your business with a few simple instructions.
Clear About Your Business Needs
You can help your VA to make the best use of their time spent on your projects if you are clear about what you want them to do. Now, I don’t want you to misunderstand me here. I’m not referring to micromanagement. This will frustrate the most patient virtual assistant. I am referring to taking a few minutes out of your day and putting down in writing what you want accomplished for that week, or month. Do you want them to do data entry? Give them the details. Do you want them to do research? Again, a few details can bring about your anticipated end result and not theirs.
Deadlines That Will Be Met
When you have laid out what needs to be done in a particular task, it’s crucial to be clear about your deadline. For me, I love getting an email where the deadline is spelled out. This way we both have a date in mind when the project should be completed. I’m happy, and my client is happy.
The Right Balance
Understanding that a virtual assistant is a professional business owner and not a paid employee will help you to establish the proper relationship with them. In that they perform so many of the tasks that an employee would, it would be easy to misunderstand what you can and can’t ask of them. With the proper balance, you will find them to be a great addition to your already awesome team.
The Right Idea
If you treat us as a business owner, much like yourself, you will get an idea of how cooperating with your virtual assistant will benefit your business. We want your business to succeed. It reflects on our efforts, and there’s satisfaction in knowing that our work has freed you to care for the areas of your business that need your personal touch.
Let’s Talk. I’d love to show you how a professional virtual assistant can help you to gain a few more hours in your 24 hour day.
