Today’s home buyers begin their search on the internet. Real estate blogging accomplishes credibility and when done right, increases your website traffic – drawing those buyers who start their search online to your website.
Educate Your Readers
Imagine that you are your target audience. With the right blogging strategies in place, you will ask yourself. Who is my target audience? What are they looking for? What information are they searching for when they start their Google search?
Above all else, they want to leave your website as informed buyers or sellers. It’s true, they know they will need a professional, but they want to know the essentials before they list their home or begin a serious search for their dream home.
Remember Who, What, Where, When, and Why
If you keep this in mind, it’s not so hard to write your blog post.
Who, or what audience, are you hoping to reach?
What is essential for them to know before purchasing or selling a home?
Where do they live or are they hoping to live?
When are they planning to purchase or buy?
Why do they want to make the move?
Seem too basic to you? Not if you are thinking like a buyer or seller. They have a million questions, and they want you to have the answer to most of them. Educate your readers and they can make informed choices, and the confidence behind those choices makes for happy clients.
Research Your Topic
Your blogging strategy should include research. Yes, it’s great to sit down and write from the heart to your readers. Sometimes, this sincere wording is just what they’re looking for, and make no mistake, sincerity is what they want to see.
Research, though, can add a depth and dimension to your blog post that it might otherwise lack. It’s just that one idea or strategy that might be missed without research.
Sometimes Feature the Routine Blog Post
Yes, and I meant that. A simple “What to Expect When Selling Your Home” or “The Home Buying Process” can be more powerful than you realize. Yes, everyone does them, but this is where you can put your spin on it and give your readers a reason to want “you” as their agent.
Use Your Keyword – Don’t Overuse Them
There are two rules of thought that you need to remove from your blogging strategy.
- I will repeat my keyword so many times that Google is sure to notice me.
- If I use my keyword just two times – that’s all that’s needed.
These are both dangerous plans that can lead to a blogging disaster. Google frowns on the first and doesn’t notice your post with the second plan. So, be sensible and use your keywords judiciously.
Sit down to write, show your readers you know what you’re talking about, ask questions, research your topic and mind your keywords. With these blogging strategies in place, your readers will leave your website feeling just a little, and sometimes a lot, more informed.
